Every Daycare Day

What’s Included

Every Rocky Mountain K9 daycare day includes these six pillars — no hidden fees, no add-ons, no surprises. Just a genuinely great day for your dog.

Trained Staff Supervision

K9 CPR-certified handlers on the floor all day — not watching through a window. Every group has an attentive team member ensuring dogs stay safe, happy, and appropriately engaged.

Behavior-Matched Group Play

Dogs are grouped by size, energy level, and temperament — not just breed. A calm senior Labrador and an exuberant young Border Collie need very different playmates. We get that right.

Indoor & Outdoor Play Areas

Our 2-acre properties give dogs real space to run, explore, and be dogs. Climate-controlled indoor areas provide a comfortable retreat when weather demands it.

Socialization & Enrichment

Daycare isn't just free-for-all play. We weave in structured activities, learning games, scent work, and calming exercises throughout the day for a genuinely enriching experience.

Fresh Water & Rest Breaks

Hydration stations throughout our facilities, plus scheduled rest periods so dogs don't overdo it. High-energy play balanced with recovery keeps tails wagging all day.

Safe, Clean Facility

Daily professional deep-cleaning protocols keep our facilities sanitary and odor-free. We maintain the same rigorous cleanliness standards in daycare as we do in overnight boarding.

The Full Day

A Day at Rocky Mountain K9

Structure matters in group settings. Here’s exactly how a typical daycare day flows — from drop-off to a tired, happy pickup.

6:30 – 9:30 AM

Drop Off

Bring your dog in during our flexible morning drop-off window. Staff conduct a quick wellness check to confirm your dog is healthy, happy, and ready for the day. First-timers get a brief meet-and-greet assessment to identify the best group fit.

9:30 – 11:30 AM

Morning Play Groups

Dogs head to their matched play groups for the first big energy burn of the day. Groups are matched by size, temperament, and play style — so the big goofy retrievers aren't romping over the petite seniors. Trained staff facilitate healthy interactions and redirect any over-arousal before it escalates.

11:30 AM – 12:30 PM

Mid-Morning Enrichment

Play slows down and gets structured. This block includes enrichment activities: scent puzzles, basic manners reinforcement, calming exercises, and individual attention for dogs that want it. Mental stimulation at this stage prevents the afternoon zoomies that lead to accidents and altercations.

12:30 – 1:30 PM

Lunch & Rest

Quiet time. Dogs settle in for nap time in their designated rest areas — a mandatory downtime that mimics a healthy pack schedule. If your dog has specific dietary needs or a midday meal, just let us know at drop-off and we'll make sure they're fed on schedule.

1:30 – 3:00 PM

Afternoon Play

Refreshed from rest, the afternoon session focuses on burning off that last bit of energy so your dog comes home genuinely tired. Staff rotate activities to keep engagement high — fetch, tug, group play, and individual check-ins.

3:00 – 7:00 PM

Pickup Window

Pick up your dog during our afternoon and evening window. You'll take home a tired, socialized, happy dog — the best kind of evening companion. Note: pickups after noon on boarding checkout days incur a daycare fee since your dog joins the daycare group.

Is Daycare Right for Your Dog?

Who Daycare Is For

Group daycare isn’t the right fit for every dog — and that’s okay. We’d rather tell you honestly than put your dog in an environment where they won’t thrive.

Great For

  • Social dogs who love making friends
  • High-energy breeds that need daily outlets (Aussies, Huskies, Labs, Vizslas)
  • Dogs whose owners work long hours or commute
  • Dogs that display boredom behaviors at home (chewing, barking, anxiety)
  • Dogs transitioning out of a training program who need continued socialization
  • Puppies (over 4 months, fully vaccinated) building their social foundation

Not Ideal For

  • Dogs with a history of serious dog-on-dog aggression
  • Highly dog-reactive dogs who become overwhelmed in group settings
  • Dogs recovering from surgery or illness
  • Unvaccinated or lapsed-vaccination dogs

If your dog struggles in group settings due to reactivity or past trauma, our training programs are specifically designed to build the skills they need — and group daycare is often a milestone goal we work toward together.
