Every Stay Includes

Everything Your Cat Needs

Cat boarding at Rocky Mountain K9 is not an afterthought. We have built a dedicated environment with the specific needs of cats in mind — calm, private, and completely separated from the dog areas.

Private Cat Condos

Spacious, comfortable individual condos — not stacked cages. Your cat has their own cozy space to sleep, stretch, and feel at home.

Completely Separated from Dogs

Your cat stays in a dedicated area — no barking, no stress. Cats and dogs never share a space, a hallway, or even a sightline.

Daily Care & Feeding

We prefer your cat's own food to keep their routine consistent. Staff administers meals at your cat's normal schedule with the food you bring.

Fresh Water & Litter Box Maintenance

Fresh water is always available. Litter boxes are cleaned and refreshed multiple times daily — hygiene is never an afterthought.

Daily Photo Updates & Report Cards

Delivered through the Gingr app. Eating well? Settled in? Playing or lounging? You'll know. Call any time for a real-time check-in too.

Staff Who Genuinely Love Cats

Not every boarding facility cares as deeply about cats as dogs. Our team includes genuine cat lovers — staff who go out of their way for a purr.

Climate Controlled Environment

Comfortable year-round. Heating in winter, cooling in summer. Your cat's comfort is maintained regardless of Utah's extreme seasonal swings.

The Environment

Designed Around How Cats Actually Live

Cats are not small dogs. They have entirely different social structures, stress responses, and environmental needs — and most boarding facilities that focus primarily on dogs miss this entirely. At Rocky Mountain K9, our cat suite is purpose-built with feline comfort as the design goal.

The cat area is physically separated from all dog areas. That means no barking filtering through a shared wall, no dog smells drifting down a hallway, no visual contact with unfamiliar animals. For a cat, that separation is the difference between a stressful experience and a genuinely restful one.

Each cat stays in their own private condo — spacious enough to comfortably contain a litter box, food and water stations, a cozy sleeping area, and enough room to stretch. We add enrichment through staff interaction, toys, and comfortable bedding. For social cats who want attention, our team spends one-on-one time with them each day. For shy cats who need space, we respect that too — while still making sure they are eating, drinking, and healthy.

We strongly prefer that you bring your cat's own regular food. A sudden diet change combined with an unfamiliar environment is one of the most common causes of stress-related appetite loss in cats. Keeping their food consistent keeps one familiar anchor in an otherwise new setting.

Complete dog separation — not just a different room

Our cat suite is its own dedicated space. No shared corridors, no adjacent walls with dog kennels. Cats have no visual, auditory, or olfactory contact with dogs during their entire stay.

Multiple daily check-ins from staff who know cats

Every cat is checked on multiple times throughout the day. We monitor eating, drinking, litter box habits, and general demeanor — the small details that indicate whether a cat is comfortable or stressed.

Enrichment tailored to your cat's personality

Social cats get extra interaction, affection, and play time. Independent cats get space and quiet. We pay attention to each cat's individual personality from day one and adjust our care accordingly.

Climate controlled — comfortable year-round

Utah's temperature swings are extreme. Our cat suite maintains a consistent, comfortable temperature so your cat can sleep soundly regardless of what the weather is doing outside.

What to Bring for Your Cat

A little preparation makes check-in smooth and helps your cat settle in faster. Here is everything you need to bring and why each item matters.

1

Your cat's regular food

Maintains routine and prevents digestive upset. Pre-portion meals and label clearly.

2

Vaccination records

Required: Rabies + FVRCP. Upload to your Gingr portal before arrival.

3

A familiar item (optional)

A toy or worn blanket with your scent can meaningfully reduce first-night anxiety.

4

Medications if needed

We administer most oral meds and supplements — bring in original labeled containers with instructions.

5

Emergency contact information

A backup contact in case you are unreachable during travel.

Not sure what to bring? Call your nearest Rocky Mountain K9 location and a team member will walk you through exactly what your cat needs for their specific stay. We would rather answer a question before you arrive than have you forget something important.

What Cat Owners Say

Trusted by Cat Families Across Utah

“We recently boarded our cat Rocky (no relation) :)at Rocky Mt K9. The staff treated him so kindly — it was so cute when the receptionist was sad we were picking him up! For the first time he wasn't mad at us for ‘abandoning’ him. The staff obviously spoiled him. Professional, up front with costs, and made the whole experience easy.”
