PLEASE READ: My name is David Kitchen and I own Rocky Mountain K9 I handle all training and boarding related topics. I am not a groomer, but over this last year I have learned so much about what it takes to be a groomer. It is by far the hardest position we have here at RMK9. These girls work so hard and rarely take breaks, and they stand all day long handling dogs who just naturally love to move around a lot, they are heavy, and in some cases even try to bite them.  Dog Groomers are a special breed of person who exhibit patience, love, and kindness.  As many of you have experienced many groomers will up and quit out of the blue due to burn out.  I ask that you thank your groomer, and be patient with them if something is taking to long or didn’t go as planned. They are striving each day to give your dog the best care possible. And if they make a mistake or if they are delayed rest assured they will make it right.  I only write this in hopes to educate more people on what it takes to groom dogs, and I hope our groomers will feel the appreciation I know we all have for them.

We hope this is a helpful tool to make your stay easier. If you ever have questions please feel free to reach out to one of our knowledgeable staff members for anything you need answered or refer back to this page.

Pricing Details

Thank you for Choosing Rocky Mountain K9 for your boarding needs. We are so excited to have your pup and enjoy some fun activites and adventures during their stay. Please go through the following info to better prepare for your stay.

  • How do we calculate your bill?
    • Think of staying at a hotel, you check in on the 1st at any point during the day and you would normally stay untill 10-11 am and then check out. We are very similar, every night you stay you are billed our nightly rate dependent upon the type of kennel you select. On the final day no additional charges are applied up until 12pm, picking up after 12 pm will result in a $30 day care charge regardless of K9 club status.
  • Credit card processing fee
    • Since April 1st 2024 we have implemented a 3% processing fee. This will be applied to your daily rate but not your additional services. This fee can be bypassed when paying with cash. Our credit card processing has been increasing year after year, and unfortunately we are stuck with this processor due to our scheduling software. We will be attempting to negotiate this rate down and exploring other processing options to hopefully eliminate this charge.
  • Peak rate charges
    • During our busy seasons we charge a peak rate that ranges from $2.50-$10. During our busy seasons we will be at capacity and will require additional help and resources to properly care for your animals. These rates help us maintain the quality service we always provide.  K9 club members are not exempt from the peak rates. For major holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas or when our reservations exceed our typical capacity you will see a $10 peak rate, for smaller holidays like valentines day its typical to see a $2.50 charge, and for other dates like fall break its common to see $5. These rates are automated and may change based on our capacity levels. If you have any questions refer to the online quote that’s provided at every booking, or ask a staff member for further clarification.
    • We reserve the right to add peak rates at any time If our facility becomes full. In an effort to help you understand the possible rates here is a list of various holidays that peak rates will be charged on.  New Years, Spring break (entire month of April), 4th of July, Thanks Giving, Christmas, Presidents day, Martin Luther king Day, UEA weekends, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Pioneer Day, Valentines day.
  • Rate increases
    • K9 club members base rate is locked in for 1 year, regardless of sign up date we reassess at the 1st of Jan each year. We strive to keep rates locked in for as long as possible for all k9 club members. Our standard rate is subject to multiple yearly assessments which will not affect K9 club members.
